The Marine restaurant offers a first rate dining experience to visitors with many delicious dishes to cater to any palette and an excellent choice of wines.
The chefs are experts in presenting simple food in an extraordinary way. Combining the best of local produce as well as international, the restaurant aspires to bring you a memorable meal. Examples of local produce can be seen with fresh fish from Union Hall & Castletownshend, be it Nolan's smoked salmon or Glenmar's Cod caught in Glandore water.
With unrivaled scenery, friendly local service and top class food, the Marine is a wonderful setting to enjoy an evening meal. The restaurant is sectioned in tiered levels that take full advantage of Glandore Pier and Harbour sea views. The furnishing is finished to the highest of standards with stylish and vibrant warm colours contrasted by the solid dark woods. High ceilings with chandelier style lighting make the restaurant feel open and contemporary. A great place for smart casual dining.
Proprietor Shane O'Brien is heading up the kitchen team and the aim is to present simple food with a bit of a twist to give a sense of occasion. Menus are well-balanced but local seafood tops the bill, of course. Union Hall smoked salmon on a bed of salad with pink grapefruit & orange, perhaps, followed by Deep fried Plaice from Glenmar shop with home-made chunky chips & salad - and there's a vegetarian option on both the main menu and a separate children's menu.
Popular desserts to finish include fruit crumbles, chocolate cake, bread & butter pudding or, perhaps, Rosscarbery strawberries in a tuile basket. An informative wine list is organised by style.
